Tahun Melawat Malaysia 2007

Welcome visitors to my beloved colourful country, Malaysia. As most people in this country knows, the start of year is a pretty damp time to come and visit our lush green forests. And ooohhh… those-so-huge-and-out-of-this-world’s waves on the shores of Terengganu. Not to mention the new brand spanking floods happening in Johor. So be prepared. Stock up on the books and sudoku puzzles if you ever come across an event killing situation.

Another interesting fact about Malaysia this past year was the fact that the robbery industry is growing… and growing… and growing. The probable causes are thought to be the increase in overall wealth distribution, the happy-go-lucky nature of Malaysians, the abundance of like minded robbery inclined government reps, the fast pace of the economy (lala ;p), the cheap laptop and parts prices (banyak pirates), and the ever ‘efficient’ government servants, in this case the POLIS force. Its a new era of forced entry, parang weilding, gun totting robberies.

What would life be without them? The usual suspects are Indonesians (now I sound like a biased freak!!).

As a word of precaution, those interested in enjoying the scenes in Malaysia, what with the Tahun Melawat Malaysia now in full swing, bring in stuff that you want to get rid off. Let these money missionaries get rid of your junk for you. Another unique hospitality tactic of Malaysia. Don’t bring in your laptops or pdas or handphones even, you can get cheap (and most probably ripped off) electronics in Low Yat, or where ever in KL, just ask around, most of the junkies will know. No handbags allowed, or if you ever need to tot one, don’t walk in the streets if you value your lives more.

Heh. They never put such details in their travel brochures. I guess I could print out these details and distribute it to the Mat Salehs and Pak Arabs, at least in KLCC. That’s a thought ;) I need to do my part in this super grand event ;P

Ahahahahaha.. u sounded like a really good promoter (with cynical accent).. Nice one!!

I could not help but laugh at how the media is absorbing and helping the governemnt in promoting VMY’07. Last week’s Majalah Tiga, they featured Japan as their main story. Isn’t it the BEST feature story to start the VISIT MALAYSIA YEAR?? What the !@#$%^&* But, who gives the heck? Let’s visit Japan, then..

At least Malaysia has got natural beauties, cultures, and the nice 34 degrees weather throughout the year to be proud of. Every country has it’s own darkside to balance the populations, and it is quite a shame if this darkside is highlighted when there is an effort to bring in some good money to hopefully enlightened the darkside itself.
